“Why do magnets push each other apart?” This and many other great questions were overheard during the Magnets science hour this week. The children played with variety of magnets of different sizes, shapes and strength. They magnetized metal paperclips and watched how the magnetized objects moved the compass needle. There was an array of magnetic toys to play with: MagnaForm cars, MagnaTiles and magnetic letters and words. Students built cars, towers and sentences with magnetic letters as they learned about properties of magnets.
