Below are a list of activities the WTPA makes possible on-campus (in some cases off) to help our children grow in their appreciation of different cultures, social learning, sports, language and more. There are also YES events featuring the arts and more. Events are marked to denote whether they are WTPA- or YES-sponsored and if they are special or enrichment (star), or fundraiser (heart). Learn where your dollars go.

We hope this page gives you a taste for what to expect next year. Many dates are still being set for this year.

Back-to-School Night
This is your chance to hear from the Principal, be introduced to all teachers, learn more about the Wade Thomas Parent Association and YES Foundation, and most importantly, meet your child’s teacher. Your teacher will share all the learning that will happen this year, important information about school routines, and you’ll also get to sign up for various classroom and school volunteer opportunities.

Mustang Round Up
The official back to school event, the Mustang Round Up is a great way to connect with new families in your class, and reconnect with friends you may not have seen over the summer. If you are an accomplished baker – and even if you are not – bake a cake for the cake auction. And we encourage creativity – the winner a few years back was a cake in the shape of the bust of our principal!

It is one of the highlights of the year and our children talk about it for weeks. Each grade will perform dances associated with the country they learned about for World Culture Day. There will be a big potluck for all offering samples of various cuisines around the world. Many parent volunteers are needed for preparation and on the day of the event.
