This week we taught erosion and the formation of caves, canyons and other landscape features created by water and wind.

To demonstrate how rain creates canyons and landslides, we poured water on trays with mounds of dirt. The children watched in fascination. They also enjoyed watching the simulation of formation of underground caves – sugar cubes, placed under a Play-Doh “ground” cover with holes, melted when “rain” water was poured and created caverns.

Everyone had a great time watching science demonstrations, participating in hands-on science demos, building skyscrapers with Keva blocks and writing on the whiteboard!
