One of our favorite labs, a plants lab, took place this Friday. Students looked at the “museum of plant uses”—a long table showcasing examples of plant use by humans: vegetables, fruit, juices, wooden toys, spices, cotton fabric, chocolate, perfume, etc. Students could then study the leaves and stems up close with scientific tools and a digital microscope, dissect fruits and vegetables, and try their hand at scientific illustration.

Visit: Marin Art and Garden Center in Ross.

Play: Dig around in the garden, plant a tree or tend to a vegetable garden. Care for indoor plants throughout the year. Go for a hike and sketch plants in your notebook.

Thank you to all the parents who volunteered their time during the lab.
