Wade Thomas Parents Association
Who are we?
We are a parent-led organization that exists to support the students, faculty, and staff of Wade Thomas Elementary School. We build community by creating opportunities for families to socialize and get to know one another through fun happenings such as the Mustang Fun Run, grade-level socials, and parent education events just to name a few.
Who Is Part of WTPA?
You! By having a child at Wade Thomas, you are a member of the WTPA. And there are lots of ways to get involved. Keep reading through our website to learn more about volunteer opportunities across a variety of categories including social events, community building, fundraising, and more. We also frequently recruit volunteers throughout the year for various needs on and off campus. For more information on how you can get involved, email us at wtpadna@gmail.com
WHAT DO WE DO?
The WTPA also raises vital funds for the school to support our students, faculty, and staff. We do this through our primary fundraiser for the school year: The Wade Thomas Fun Run. In the past, these funds have gone toward critical needs such as water bottle filling stations, teacher and classroom supplies, books for classroom libraries as well as the school library, and furnishings to accommodate outdoor learning spaces. In addition to raising funds for our school, we also raise money for the YES Foundation through our annual book fair.
WTPA History
Wade Thomas Parents Club was founded in 1978 by dedicated parents at Wade Thomas Elementary School. Over time, the name changed to Wade Thomas Parents Association (WTPA). WTPA has been a vital part of our community for over 40 years. As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with EIN 94-2535840, our mission is to enrich our children’s educational experience. We promote collaboration among parents, teachers, and students, working together to create an enriching environment for current and future generations.
